Product description
Overview:
Add LTE-M or NB-IoT narrowband communications to your project with the MKR NB 1500. It is the perfect choice for devices in remote locations without internet connectivity or in situations where power is not available, e.g. in field deployments, remote measurement systems, solar-powered devices, etc.
The MKR NB 1500 main processor is a low-power Arm® Cortex®-M0 32-bit SAMD21, just like in the other boards of the Arduino MKR family. The narrowband connection is carried out with a module from u-blox, SARA-R410M-02B, as a low-power chipset operating in the various bands of the IoT LTE mobile range. In addition, secure communication is guaranteed by the Microchip® ECC508 crypto chip. MKR NB 1500 also has LiPo charging circuit to connect LiPo batteries.
Power supply:
The USB port or I/O port can be used to 3.3V to the board. The board has a Li-Po charging circuit that allows it to run on battery power or an external 5-volt source, charging the Li-Po battery while running on external power. Switching from one source to the other is automatic.
LTE-M and NB-IoT
The card is designed for global use and provides connectivity on LTE's Cat M1/NB1 bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28. There are many global operators offering services for LTE-M and NB-IoT. In Sweden, Telia, Telenor and Tele2 offer these services.
