The BC107 is a variant of the classic BC108 transistor, which has been used in many applications over the years. BC107 differs from BC108 in that it can withstand higher voltages.
It works well as both an amplifier and a switch transistor. The fact that it has a TO-18 metal case makes it a little more power resistant, and easier to cool, than its modern successor in a plastic case.
