A DCDC-converter based on the LM2596 switched mode regulator. The module is an efficient way of converting a higher voltage to a lower (step-down). The output voltage is set using the on-board trimmer. The input voltage needs to be approximately 1.5V over the desired output voltage to avoid rippling. The module should be mounted on a heatsink when used in high ambient temperatures, and/or when powering larger loads.
