White solid Cat6 CCA installation cable. Sold in 100 m spool. The cable is unshielded and twisted pair, U/UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair).
For PoE applications, you should not install the cable longer than 25 m due to CCA conductors. For PoE applications, shorter distances are recommended (up to approx. 25 m). For longer lengths, cables with pure copper (CU) conductors are recommended.
What is CCA? It stands for Copper Clad Aluminium which means that the signal conductor is made of copper plated aluminium wire. A CCA cable does not affect the transmission speed as the skin effect will occur. The skin effect is a physical phenomenon that causes high-frequency signals to flow through the outer periphery of the conductor (the shell or skin).
CCA and PoE: In terms of DC transmission, a CCA conductor will perform worse as aluminium has higher resistance than copper. However, in the case of network cables of shorter length (< 25 m), this does not matter in practice. Aluminium is a good enough conductor for PoE if the cable is not too long.
