Find out where installed cables are going. An excellent tool that uses an audio signal to locate cables. Works on all types of electrical cables, such as network cables, telecom cables and antenna cables. Also used to easily trace breaks in boundary wire for robot lawn mowers.
How does a cable locator work? It is very simple! Connect the tone generator (transmitter) to one end of the cable and aim the probe (receiver) to locate the other end of the cable. It doesn't matter if the cable is installed in the walls, floor or ground. An audio signal will sound from the receiver probe when it gets close to the right cable.
Great for finding the right network cable without having to equip with connectors first. You can even trace individual pairs in the same network or telecom cable.
When troubleshooting boundary wire in a lawn, the audio signal stops at the cable break.
Sensitivity and sound volume are adjustable. Dimensions probe: 145x35x25 mm. Dimensions tone generator: 238x43x26 mm. Output voltage (peak to peak): ±3.5V. Audio tone: 1300-1700 Hz. Tone generator and probe are each powered by a 9V (6F22) battery (not included).
