Product description
TermoPasty Colophony 1 kg is a high-quality rosin flux. The product is supplied in a plastic container in the form of crushed colophony crystals. At room temperature, rosin / colophony is a hard, crystalline material.
Applications:
- Improves solderability when using lead-free solder (see video demonstrating cable tinning).
- Effective in removing oxidation from soldering surfaces, reducing the risk of cold joints.
- Can be used as a base to prepare reference flux (25% solution in isopropanol).
About Colophony:
Colophony, also known as natural resin or rosin, is a solid, amber-colored substance obtained by distilling turpentine balsam from coniferous trees such as pine, spruce, and larch. It is a by-product of the pulp and paper industry, where crude tall oil is refined to colophony.
Colophony has a wide range of applications in both industry and everyday life. In electronics, it is used as a flux. In the world of music, it is applied to violin bow hair to increase friction. Colophony is also a component in various adhesives and sealants, such as glue, tape, and labels. In industrial contexts, colophony is used in lacquers, paints, cutting fluids, and as a plasticizer in plastic products.
