FR2 phenolic paper. Ideal when you want to produce smaller series of PCBs. Before drawing the routes and etching, it is important that the board is properly cleaned. Use isopropanol for best cleaning results. The advantages of FR2 are its lower cost and the fact that it is easier to process (milling and drilling) compared to FR-4 (epoxy resin). The disadvantage of FR2 is that it can withstand lower temperatures (max 105°C) and has less mechanical and electrical properties than FR4 (epoxy resin).
