40-pin jumper wire cable with mounted dupont connectors. Pitch: 2.54 mm. Pin/sleeve dimensions: 0.64 mm. The flat ribbon cable is multicolored and dividable. Suitable for use with breadboards, pin headers, sensors, etc.
What is often referred to as a “dupont connector” does not follow any exact standard. However, this has become a well-used term and a generic name for connectors with a pitch of 2.54 mm and pin/sleeve with a thickness of 0.64 mm. Between different manufacturers, the physical properties differ slightly between crimp terminals and housings. For a good mechanical fit and function, it is therefore not possible to mix crimp terminals and housings from different manufacturers (when manufacturing cables).
When buying pre-assembled cables, this is not a problem, as the cable manufacturer ensures that the housing and crimp terminal fit together
Common names for the dupont connector are Mini-PV and M20, but there are many more.
