Product description
IR Spotlight for Raspberry Pi Camera Modules – Night Vision
Infrared (IR) illumination enables image and video capture in complete darkness, without visible light revealing the presence of the camera. IR LEDs emit light at wavelengths outside the human visible spectrum (typically 850 nm or 940 nm), which can be detected by cameras with night vision capability, such as Raspberry Pi NoIR camera modules.
When IR lighting is combined with a camera without an IR filter (NoIR), it provides an effective night vision solution ideal for surveillance, filming nocturnal animals, and other applications in dark environments.
The IR spotlight module is equipped with 12 IR LEDs. Intended for Raspberry Pi Camera Modules 2 and 3 (NoIR). NoIR means that the camera has no IR filter.
The module shares the same footprint as the camera and mounts directly on top. It is powered by 5 VDC from the Raspberry Pi’s GPIO and is supplied with the necessary connection cables.
IR-light control:
-
The “EN” logic input must be connected to activate the illumination.
– High logic level (3.3–5 V): 100% brightness
– Low logic level (0 V): off -
To adjust brightness (0–100%), the “EN” input can be driven by a PWM signal from any GPIO pin.
