Lithium thionyl chloride is one of the most powerful and potent battery chemistries. It consists of lithium (Li), sulphur (S), oxygen (O) and chlorine (Cl). Properties: very high energy density, low self-discharge and high chemical stability. With its very high energy density, the capacity is twice as high compared to e.g. Li-Ion. The ability to operate in a wide temperature range and to resist strong vibrations means that it is used in everything from medical technology to space stations.
