Product description
The Arduino shield represents a widely accepted standard for expansion boards, not only compatible with Arduino but also compatible with a host of other development boards and SBCs from various manufacturers.
Although RS485 shields for Arduino are presently accessible in the market, their applicability for professional use is limited due to the absence of galvanic isolation between the RS485 bus and the Arduino. This lack of isolation exposes the Arduino to potential damage or device malfunction, particularly given the considerable distances involved in an RS485 bus. Furthermore, our shield integrates a full-duplex mode (RS422) in addition to addressing these concerns.
Features:
* RS485 mode (half duplex)
* RS422 mode (full duplex)
* Galvanic isolation between the Arduino and the connected RS485 bus
* Flexible selection of the TX-pin from pins 0-5
* Flexible selection of the RX-pin from pins 0-5
* Enhanced ESD protection
* Adjustable automatic transceiver switching for RS485 mode
* Adjustable control of the transceiver/receiver via pin 6 or 7
* Adjustable Pull-Up, Pull-Down, and terminating resistors
* Indicator LEDs for RX and TX
* Removable block terminal for bus connection
* Numerous customizable options via DIP switches
* Stackable headers
* Configurable for 3.3V and 5V logic
The RS485 is in use in many applications like industrial and home automation (for example MODBUS), lighting control (DMX), video surveillance (for example Pelco D)
